Elixir31012 blends wearable design with 3D animation, sound, and performance. When you’re starting something new, what usually comes first—a visual, a story, or a material?
To be honest, sound and music actually comes very first. Because sound as a medium itself, it is even more accurate than visual. As you can use sound to describe the feeling of time, space, humidity, texture, emotion, narrative and character at the same time. When we two communicate, we like to share each other songs and music to express what is the vibe we want :)

The name “Elixir” comes from Daoist alchemy. Do you think of each piece as a kind of magical object - or even as part of a ritual?
Exactly! The thing (accessory, animation, sound design, sculpture) we created is actually the manifestation of the current energy we felt. As the creators, we are just the channel between different energy field/ consciousness state. ( and we think, 3D printer really looks like an alchemy stove)
You’ve described Elixir31012 as a nonlinear, post-human world. If it existed in a parallel timeline, what year would it be there - and what’s happening?
BC1000 year at a alienated planet/time-space: primitive tribes + elaborated technology co-exists (Jesus in another dimension).
That headpiece blends armor, thorns, and skin in such a visceral way. Were you thinking more about protection, transformation, or something playful?
A growing and transformative state we believe, like plants growing or skin decaying.
Your sound work feels really central to the universe you’re building. What does audio allow you to do that visuals alone can’t?
Sound as a medium contains time duration and speed and rhythm. When we are listening to music, we are indulging in the 3~5 minutes experience, surrounded fully by the vibrations of sound wave. This is something that visual as a medium that is hard to deliver.
Are there any moods, textures, or references - maybe unexpected ones - that you keep coming back to when you’re designing?
Motocycle, dirty marsh, mysterious totem comes back and forth so much in our design. Motocycle for us is definitely more than a vehicle, it represents a energy state: transgressing the mundane world. Dirty marsh is always the environment we want: a nasty, moistured, dark landscape that full of growing hope. Totem is our insistence in creating ancient but futurist tribe.
How would you describe Elixir31012’s relationship to fashion? Is it a love affair, a breakup, or something in between?
暧昧
若即若离
Do you see Elixir31012 as one shared voice - or more like a conversation between your two perspectives?
We are two radically different artists — one embraces minimalism and futurism, the other revels in maximalism and romanticism. Elixir31012 is a practice that merged different ideologies together in an elixir way.

Where do you usually find inspiration - museums, clubs, random internet spirals, or just letting your brain wander?
Sound (experimental music, rave)
Mystical experiences (religion, tribalism, witchcraft, spirituality)
Tech/Nature (machinery, flora, fauna, landscapes, artificial intelligence)
Has there been a recent moment, a movie, a sound, a meme - that made you want to drop everything and make something?
Titane 2021
Vampire Hunter D 1985
Angel's Egg 1985
Do you have any small rituals in the studio? Like a playlist, a drink, or a weird superstition that helps you shift into creative mode?
Automatic writing is a little ritual in our creative process. Sometimes we play our favorite music loud, then fall silent and each write spontaneous poetry. Afterward, we share and discuss what we've written.
Your pieces often feel like personal armor or talismans. If you could make one just for yourselves, what would it look like—and what would it protect?
